The streets

You chose the streets? WOW, your mind must have been gone. Can you please tell me how and why you would do that?

I was very spoiled and used to attention and doing what I wanted. I had a grandmother who lived in Gowanus Projects in Brooklyn, NY. All of my father's family lived in New York. My grandmother who once lived in Brooklyn moved to Plainfield New Jersey when I was five. Shout out to the field. Fresh,Capone, tonypreayer, cheese, the whole third street, the bricks. Arlington Ave. Anyways, when old enough I moved with my dad and the projects was jumping and at the time rap was jumping and crack was starting to hit. More dealers were out. Matter fact, late 70s social clubs and arcades were the wave. They were owned by the dealers or dealer. He had bodyguards. Early dealers had visible security. The guy I'm thinking of is home. The FEDS laid him down for decades. His name was SHA King. May have been Shakeem. He was the biggest and had the hood on lock. Next I notice years later the guard changed. We were always told stay away from the middle. That was where all the crime took place. But at the time my grandma lived on that side of the projects. Our family didn't have many issues having such a foundation and Mama knew everybody, the dope dealers, addicts everybody. The end of numbers is coming. That's why lotto machines are in the stores. Stop the hood from that money. You either sold drugs or numbers.

Heroin was there first and more discreet. Coke mainly crack was wide open. Then the dreads came. A new level of violence. Real killers short tempers. Broadaylight get right. Then, you had the rappers, the real roxanne, Jalil from whodini, Extasy twin brother Dynasty and his partner MiMi. Kane, smooth da hustler, Ra Diggs, Uncle murda, There are more I didn't see. Right up the street was legendary All B square Mall where BIzmarkie hung out. Ugly as hell but had the flyest girls around him always.

To be continued......
